Where Not to Buy Landlord Credit Reports

by Samantha Jones
(Sacramento, CA)

Buying a landlord credit report can be a walk in the park or a total nightmare - Avoid going a wild goose chase like me by choosing the correct company right from the start.

Don't bother going directly to credit bureaus to buy credit reports for landlords. They are catered mostly to individuals who want to check and monitor their own credit scores.

It took me 2 days of fruitless searching to realize that I should be looking at tenant screening websites instead.

While there is a dazzling choice of tenant screening websites, most of them are small fly-by-night businesses. I totally agree with this website's guidelines for choosing a highly trafficked and well established company to work with.

Personally I am using E-Renter and I never had any problems with them so far.

If you want to buy landlord credit reports, you will need to prove that you are a rental property owner. To save time, have all relevant documents handy including the property deed, personal identification, utility bill with your name and address.
